Dog Training

John E. Brown, CPDT-KA

John is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer that teaches people how to train their dogs using Force-Free methods.  His philosophy is based on building a positive relationship between a pet parent and their dog, allowing them to work as a team, instead of dictator and subject.  He teaches that leadership is about controlling resources, not about pain, fear, force, and coercion, allowing dogs to think and learn, and not be afraid to do “wrong.”

John is an honors graduate and mentor trainer for the Animal Behavior College of dog training, a Certified Advanced Pet Care technician, a Dogs & Storks licensed presenter, an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, a Professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a Certified SAFER evaluator, and a Best Friends Animal Society Community Training Partner.  John was previously the Training & Behavior Coordinator for the Toledo Area Humane Society where he established training and enrichment programs for the shelter dogs.  John has been professionally training people and their dogs for six years.
